What do our customers think?

I have worked with the team at Vaussa on a number of projects over the years and have always found them to provide an excellent product. We have done everything from kitchens to bathrooms to wine bars for my client's homes, and the process has been smooth and the teamwork excellent. Achieving a great product takes creativity, the ability to listen and implement the client's vision, the creation of a good set of plans to review and then follow through and craftsmanship in the shop. All of that leads to the final phase of installation where it all comes together. The team at Vaussa takes the client through the steps in and helps facilitate decisions at every step of the way. I highly recommend Vaussa for your project!

When looking for a contractor to do a major remodel to our kitchen, we chose 3 to interview. Each had their own pluses, but Vaussa came in on top. Their professional handling of all our concerns was excellent- their team helped us through each and every step of the process. They are all courteous, keeping in touch each step of the way. The big plus was having the cabinets made here in Steamboat and they finished in their projected time, actually a little ahead of schedule. We recommend them highly to anyone looking for a contractor to do any remodeling.

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Vaussa.  Owner Beau Christiansen has literally been by our side every step of the way from property selection through planning, design and troubleshooting to renovation completion.  Everyone whom we have encountered in the company has been willing to work with us in making our dream of having a beautifully renovated residence in Steamboat Springs a reality. We couldn't be more excited about the finished product.

After several years of visiting Steamboat, we decided to make Steamboat our second home in 2016.  When we began the search for a vacation residence/rental property, it quickly became clear that we could not find the high end quality and mountain modern design we loved in our target location and within our budget.  We thus asked our real estate agent to focus on properties that would be complete renovations and ask for her recommendation for contractors.  She recommended only Vaussa!  Immediately upon viewing their website, we understood why this company was recommended.  We loved the beautiful designs and quality product.  Even after extensive research, we found no one in the area that could even compare to Vaussa.

After contacting Beau, he looked at our target property even before we placed an offer on the condo to assure us that the property was a workable project for Vaussa and our family.  After placing a contract on the property, Beau did a detailed walk through with us, letting us express our concerns and desires and offering new insights.  After purchasing the condo, the design team came back to us with a beautiful design plan that incorporated our wish list and brought great new ideas that we never envisioned.  When the budget blossomed to more than we wanted to spend due to our every growing wish list, Beau and the design team were quickly able to point out ways we could save money without greatly impacting the overall design or feeling like we were “cutting corners”.

Even when the Vaussa team suffered a tragic loss of their work place before our project began, they did not miss a beat with the initiation of our project.  More than any renovation or building company we have ever used, Vaussa kept the project on track and completed the near total renovation of our 2000 square foot home in 4 months time.  When we ran into the unpleasant surprises that are always part of these remodeling  projects, Beau handled many of them without even worrying us and did everything he could to keep us on budget and on time.  Vaussa moved through the stages of the project in a timely and organized fashion to have it ready for our arrival in Steamboat in December of 2016.

Even after completion of the project Beau and Kassidy Christiansen have been incredibly responsive to our needs and concerns regarding the property.  When we wanted to make alterations to previous design ideas, they remained very understanding and helped guide us through these small adjustments in an design conscious but economically manor.  When the condominium building had a water leak that was unrelated to our project, Beau responded immediately to a frantic phone call from us and went quickly to our condo when the unique fireplace that is the centerpiece of our home was at risk.  And he has continued to remain responsive to questions and concerns as they arise with on Steamboat home.

After project completion, we had the delightful opportunity to meet many of the craftsmen who laboured on our remodel.  It is clear that Vaussa has purposefully assembled a great team of employees and has intentionally built relationships with the best craftspeople in the construction industry to help make their work uniquely wonderful.  We consider it such a privilege to have met so many of these talented folks.  We have been told by so many people within the real-estate and rental communities within Steamboat Springs that we have truly a remarkable one-of-kind home.  Everyone who has seen our condo is in awe of Vaussa’s amazing work.  We feel like we have been doubly lucky to now have this beautiful vacation home and to have been treated like family by all those associated with Vaussa.  Thanks Beau and Kassidy.

Beau Christiansen
- Owner

Beau started Vaussa in 2011 when he moved to Steamboat from St.George, Utah. Beau was born and raised in Wyoming working on family ranches as well as in many facets of the construction industry. While serving in the United States Air Force, Beau managed assets and logistics in a high operations combat unit, the 820th Red Horse Squadron, which possesses cradle-to-grave design-build capability to include site surveying, design, planning, procurement, and full construction. After the Air Force, Beau put himself through school, obtaining a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Accounting while working for a high-end cabinetry and millwork shop.

Let's not forget our subcontract team! Since Vaussa’s inception, we have strived to create a tried-and-true subcontract team that we use on each and every project, which allows us to guarantee both the process and the result. Our team has figured out how to work with and around one another in very tight spaces on very tight deadlines, giving us the ability to shave months off of typical Steamboat construction schedules.
